
K so lets get this out of the way...we know flexibility is sexy. Anyone who whips out fancy yoga poses or the splits anywhere outside of a yoga studio or ballet studio is only doing it to say (with their bodies) 'look what I can do!...in bed!'
Now as far as flexibility goes, I'm not. Not like 'oh I can just barely lift my leg over my head' but more like I can barely walk. Now I don't blame this on shitty genetics like most things, but rather my laziness. I've always known how important stretches were but I always neglected them because...hell I had to muster up enough motivation to get the to gym in the first place, I'm not going to force myself to do something that I will probably look ridiculous doing.
You can tell, my attitude towards fitness used to be quite shitty. Lately I've become very aware of my flexibility (or lack there of) and have an overwhelming desire to improve it. Here are some good reasons why flexibility (or rather stretching) is important for all you list lovers out there:
- Reduced muscle tension
- Increased range of movement in the joints
- Enhanced muscular coordination
- Increased circulation of the blood to various parts of the body
- Increased energy levels (resulting from increased circulation)
Did I mention its sexy? yeah its totally sexy.
